Do I need a referral?
No. Hawaiʻi law lets you see a physical therapist directly. Some insurance plans still want a referral or doctor’s order before they’ll pay — check Insurance & pricing for your plan.
Do you take my insurance?
We’re Medicare providers, and we work with many other plans, including HMSA, UHA, HMAA, Cigna, TRICARE and Hawaiʻi Medicaid. See Insurance & pricing for the full list. Don’t see your plan? Call or text us and we’ll check your coverage before your first visit.
What should I wear?
Something you can move in. If we’re treating your shoulder or knee, loose or athletic clothing that gives us access to that area makes things easier.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what’s going on. We’ll talk through a realistic plan after your evaluation.
What is manual therapy?
Hands-on treatment — joint mobilization, soft-tissue and myofascial work, Active Release Technique and Graston Technique among them. It’s a core part of how we treat here, and part of why patients drive across the island for it.
Do you treat surf and skate injuries?
Yes. We see a lot of shoulder, back, knee and neck injuries from surfing, paddling and skating, and we build your program around getting you back to it.
Do you offer Pilates or massage?
Yes to both. We have a licensed massage therapist on site. See Recovery & Wellness for more.
Can I buy a Tiger Tail?
Yes. We carry Tiger Tail massage sticks and rollers in the clinic. Ask us which one’s right for you.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please call the clinic to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead, to avoid a $50 cancellation fee. As of 2026 we keep a credit or debit card on file for the no-show and same-day cancellation fee. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule you or have you wait for the next opening. Estimated copays are due on the day of service.
